“Bugsy” is a blue roan stallion born on April 30, 2024. He should mature to 15HH. He is sired by blue roan stallion, Lazy K Blue Cat owned by Grint Quarter Horses in Chadron, NE and our black mare, Wyo Bunny Bluebonnet.
Bugy’s sire, Lazy K Blue Cat, is sired by Boonlight All Stars and is a grandson of Boonlight Dancer, who has offspring earning 1.5+ million and goes back to Peptoboonsmal who has lifetime earnings of $180k+ among other wins was a NCHA Futurity Champion. His sire is also a grandson of Grays Starlight who has offspring earning in excess of 10 million dollars. His offspring have made him one of the Leading Sires in the NRHA, NRCHA and NCHA. In 2007 Grays Starlight was the Leading Sire of Broodmares sold in both NRHA and NRCHA sales and the second leading sire of broodmares sold in NCHA sales. Bar J Whatastar is also on Bugy’s sire’s papers, and he has $27k+ in NCHA money and offspring with NCHA earnings.
On Lazy K Blue Cat’s dam’s side, he is a grandson of Bluetimestwo Hancock who has 94% foundation lines whose offspring make great all around horses. On her bottom side she goes back to Doc Olena, NCHA LTE $21K+, and Little Peppy Lynx, NCHA LTE $1,493.
Bugy’s dam, Wyo Bunny Bluebonnet, is sired by Wyo Blue Bonnet and is a granddaughter of Leo Hancock Hayes. Leo Hancock Hayes is the last breeding son of Blue Valentine and an outstanding ranch and arena sire and one of the top ten all time ranch sires in AQHA history. Almost all of his 500+ foals were used for rodeo and ranch work. Blue Valentine, another great stallion on her papers was used for roping, ranch work and steer tripping when calves weighed 800-900lbs. He was used in different rodeo events and even took 3rd at the annual Casper, WY pro rodeo all-girl barrel competition.
